# Permissions

"Manage Organization" permission is required

You can create multiple permission groups (Permissions) with which you can control the level of permissions a certain user has to Procedure Manager. A user can belong to one permission group.

There are two already built in permission groups that cannot be edited.

You can edit permissions by clicking the "Permissions" menu item under Organization.

# Permission types

Permission Description
View procedures Able to read all procedures in organization.
Edit procedures Able to edit all procedures in organization.
Manage Organization Able to edit users, departments, roles, permissions etc.
Manage company settings Able to edit white-labeling, organization language etc.
View knowledge base articles Able to read knowledge base articles.
Edit knowledge base Able to edit knowledge base articles.
Edit procedure learning tests Able to edit learning tests connected to procedures.
Participate in learning campaigns Able to participate in learning campaigns.
Manage learning campaigns Able to edit learning campaigns.
View learning reports Able to view and generate reports connected to learning.
Manage learning certificates Able to generate learning certificates.
Manage Control Checks Able to record control check events.
View control reports Able to view and generate reports connected to control checks.
Manage asset control Able to edit asset control rooms, assets and asset check events.
View asset control report Able to view and generate reports connected to asset control checks.

# Built-in permission groups

Built-in permission Description
Administrator Includes all possible permissions. Usually used by very limited amount of users.
Normal The default permission group for new users. Includes the minimal permissions required.

You cannot edit or remove built-in permission groups.

# Create a new permission group

Click on the "Add permission group" button to add a new permission group. A new permission group will be created with a name: "New permission group" with minimal permissions.

# Edit a permission group

Click on the button with the pencil icon next to the name of the permission group. A dialog will open where you can edit the name of the group and the permissions permitted to the users belonging to the group.

If the checkbox next to a permission is checked then the users in this permission group will be permitted that permission.

To save your changes click "Save" button.

Only user-created permission groups can be edited the two built-in groups (Administrator, Normal) can only be viewed by clicking the eye icon next to the name of the permission group.

# Remove a permission

Click on the button with the pencil icon next to the name of the permission group you want to remove.

In the opened dialog click on the "Remove" button and confirm your actions by clicking the "Remove" button in the popup window.

All users currently belonging in the deleted permission group will be added to the "Normal" built in permission group.
